The servicemen will be involved in extinguishing a forest fire in Georgia’s Kakheti region.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili signed the corresponding order, according to News-Georgia.
“Georgian Defence Forces will be involved to prevent a natural disaster in the Kvareli municipality and effectively carry out firefighting measures,” the message says.
According to the TV Pirveli channel, representatives of the National Guard are already on the scene, and hundreds of servicemen are on the way.
A fire in the forest near Shilda village in the Kvareli town in eastern Georgia broke out on September 1. Firefighting is still underway.
