Georgia warns of temperatures reaching 45°C

07 August 2026 16:29

Georgia's Labour Inspection has urged citizens to follow workplace safety measures as the country faces extreme summer heat reaching 45°C.

The agency advised employers to assess heat-related risks, schedule work during the cooler hours of the day whenever possible, ensure continuous access to drinking water, and provide workers with opportunities to rest in shaded or cool areas, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.

Employees are also encouraged to inform supervisors if they experience signs of overheating, severe fatigue, dizziness, or reduced concentration.

Average daytime temperatures in Georgia during August reach around 35°C in the shade, while temperatures in direct sunlight can climb to 45°C or higher.
