Georgia warns opposition against revolutionary scenarios
Georgian authorities have advised the opposition to abandon any plans for a revolutionary change of power in the country.
Georgian Parliament Deputy Speaker Giorgi Kakhiani said that attempts to overthrow the government through revolutionary means would be met with an appropriate response from state security services, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
“I do not advise anyone to think about changing power in Georgia through revolutionary means, but if anyone does, the State Security Service will respond accordingly,” Kakhiani said.
Earlier, the television channel Imedi reported that an opposition revolutionary scenario was being drafted by Igor Blažević, a leader of the Prague Civil Society Centre, and claimed that Georgia’s State Security Service has information about planned and potential unrest.
