Georgian deputy minister re-elected vice-chair of UN environmental assembly

Nino Tandilashvili, Georgia’s First Deputy Minister of Agriculture, has been elected vice-chair of the Eighth Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA).
According to Georgian media, Tandilashvili will serve a second term, representing Eastern European countries on the global environmental stage, Caliber.Az reports.
Speaking after her election, she said: “It is a great honour to be elected for a second term on behalf of Georgia to the UN’s highest platform, shaping the global environmental agenda. As vice-chair, I will do my utmost to ensure that environmental protection and sustainable ecosystem management priorities are heard at the highest levels of the United Nations.”
