Georgian FM reaffirms EU integration as strategic goal

Georgia’s Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili has reaffirmed that the country’s long-term strategic objective remains integration with the European Union, despite its ongoing efforts to broaden international partnerships.

Speaking to journalists ahead of her participation in a panel discussion at the Dubrovnik Forum in Croatia, Bochorishvili said this year’s event focuses on multi-vector diplomacy, which she described as particularly relevant for Georgia given its geographical position and geopolitical environment, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

She said Tbilisi is seeking to deepen cooperation with a range of international partners, with an emphasis on improving regional connectivity and expanding its role as a transit hub.

However, she stressed that this approach does not signal any shift in Georgia’s core foreign policy direction.

“Georgia’s strategic choice is integration into the European Union, and this remains a key priority for us,” Bochorishvili said.
