Georgian foreign minister criticizes Baltic states over sanctions allegations
Georgia has frequently faced criticism, particularly from the Baltic states, with repeated attempts to cast the country in a solely negative light, Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili stated.
Botchorishvili emphasized that Georgia has consistently upheld its obligations in implementing international sanctions and has actively worked to ensure that its territory is not used to circumvent them, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
She noted that the European Union recently recognized Georgia’s efforts, sending a letter of appreciation that praised the country’s diligence and conscientious execution of all related measures.
“At the same time, we observe that in the very countries from which these unfounded accusations against our nation often originate, there are numerous instances of sanctions circumvention,” Botchorishvili said. “It is regrettable that the same countries engaging in such practices are the ones criticizing Georgia.”
