“Georgian Maduro” sits in Rustavi prison, says chief legislator
07 January 2026 16:53
Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili has said that the Georgian “Maduro” is sitting in Rustavi Prison No. 12, having referred to imprisoned former President Mikheil Saakashvili, per local media.
He said: “Georgia is not a global power, so our assessment of global events carries little weight. What we need to focus on are our own values. Instead of waving foreign flags, we should take up the Georgian flag. Let everyone return to Georgian values.”
“We have already seen where foreign values have led us. Let us take care of our own values, also guided by what the Patriarch said in yesterday’s Christmas epistle,” the chief legislator added.
