Georgian MP compares Brussels to “street bully”
12 December 2025 19:17
A Georgian parliamentarian has likened Brussels to a “street bully,” accusing the European Union of pressuring weaker countries while acting timidly toward stronger states.
“Typically, such a person is bold towards the weak, applying heavy pressure, resorting to blackmail, and so on," Caliber.Az quotes Levan Makhashvili as saying.
According to him, Brussels acted in this way towards Georgia for years.
“But when it comes to stronger countries, it starts to stammer. Once a more powerful nation raised its voice and spoke the truth, they had to mumble to Washington about why it was wrong to interfere in the internal affairs of other states,” Makhashvili added.
