Georgian official calls for action on rising food prices
Georgian Parliament’s First Deputy Speaker Gia Volski has emphasised the need for decisive actions to address the growing concern over food prices in Georgia.
Volski commented on Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili's initiative to tackle the rising cost of food, which has become a pressing concern for Georgian citizens, Caliber.Az reports via Georgian media.
“We cannot allow businesses that profit from society's already limited financial resources to flourish in the country,” he said.
According to Volski, businesses that profit from the country's limited financial resources should not be allowed to thrive unchecked, especially in sectors affecting basic goods such as food. He noted that recent studies in various sectors have highlighted pricing as a major issue, and although it requires thorough examination, it is clear that swift measures must be taken to ease the burden on the public.
