Georgian official: No impact of US, EU financial aid on citizens' welfare
Financial aid from the US and EU has no direct impact on the lives of Georgian citizens, so the termination of this aid will not bring harm to the country.
The remarks were made by the head of the Committee on Procedures and Rules of the Georgian Parliament Irakli Kadagishvili, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
"I will only say one thing. Unfortunately, this aid mainly served their (Americans and Europeans) stay here. It has no direct impact on our citizens, functioning of the government, pensions, salaries, healthcare, defence or other areas," Kadagishvili said.
The MP specified that the financial aid is so small that it served only to finance their programmes and employees of their own organisations.
Kadagishvili is confident that after the parliamentary elections to be held in Georgia on October 26 this year and the end of hostilities in Ukraine, relations with partners will be normalised.
