Georgian opposition seeks to question foreign minister in parliament
Georgia’s opposition For Georgia faction has formally requested an interpellation of Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili in parliament, initiating a procedure that will require the minister to respond to lawmakers’ questions in a plenary session.
The announcement was made by Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili during a Bureau session on April 6, Caliber.Az reports via Georgian media.
According to Papuashvili, the questions prepared by the faction will be sent to the foreign minister by Wednesday of this week.
“We will communicate with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and there will be an opportunity for an interpellation,” Papuashvili stated.
The interpellation session is scheduled to take place during the week of April 14–17.
