Georgian parliament speaker heads to Istanbul
The Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, has departed for Istanbul, Türkiye, where he will take part in the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
According to the Georgian Parliament, Papuashvili is scheduled to deliver a speech during the assembly and hold a series of high-level meetings while in Istanbul, Caliber.Az reports via Georgian media.
The visit comes as part of ongoing parliamentary diplomacy efforts within the IPU framework, which brings together legislators from around the world to discuss global political, economic, and security issues.
The delegation led by Papuashvili includes the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze, and the Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, Maia Bitadze.
