Georgian PM calls for constructive dialogue in meeting with CoE chief in Yerevan
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has met with Council of Europe Secretary General Alain Berset on the sidelines of a summit in Yerevan, where the two officials discussed prospects for closer cooperation.
According to the Georgian media, the meeting focused on strengthening engagement between Tbilisi and the Council of Europe across bilateral and multilateral formats.
Kobakhidze reaffirmed Georgia’s readiness to pursue a “constructive dialogue” and deepen institutional cooperation.
He also voiced concern over what he described as a growing trend of using international mechanisms for politically motivated purposes.
At the same time, the Prime Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to safeguarding fundamental freedoms, advancing democratic reforms, and upholding the rule of law.
