Georgian PM claims Ukraine conflict was preventable “Global Forces Fuelled Conflict”
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has stated that the conflict in Ukraine could have been avoided, but was not due to the actions of several parties.
In a conversation with journalists, Kobakhidze explained that the war was preventable, but "a number of actors did everything possible to fuel Russia’s military aggression in Ukraine," Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Kobakhidze remarked that, certain forces, what is referred to as the deep state, the global war party, did everything to ensure that war broke out in Ukraine.
"Unfortunately, what happened, happened, and it led to devastating consequences for our friendly country, Ukraine," he said.
Premier further noted that, "any war can be avoided. The 2008 war could have been easily avoided, the war in Ukraine could have been avoided."
He went on to emphasize that the "Ukrainian scenario" had been prevented in Georgia thanks to the ruling party, Georgian Dream. "The current government did not fulfil the opposition's demands, and as a result, what happened in Ukraine did not occur here," he concluded.
