Babis, a billionaire businessman and former Czech prime minister, led his populist ANO party to a win in the recent elections, although the party fell short of an outright majority.
Preliminary results show ANO received just under 35% of the vote, securing 80 seats in the 200-seat lower house – an increase from 72 seats in the previous elections.
Babis, who served as prime minister from 2017 to 2021, is expected to be invited to lead coalition talks to form a new government.
