Georgian PM emphasizes that Tbilisi did not receive EU candidacy status for political motives
Georgia is ahead of Ukraine and Moldova in regards to carrying out reforms that are necessary for European integration.
According to News-Georgia, the country's Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili noted on this fact.
Tbilisi did not receive its candidacy status to the European Union through political motives, so Garibashvili.
"We are way ahead, two-three times when it comes to reforms when compared to Ukraine and Moldova and this was a political decision. It was openly stated, that Ukraine received candidacy status because the country is in a state of conflict, while Moldova is located at its border", the prime minister said.
He pointed out, that people in Tbilisi react to Brussels' decision with understanding and also recalled, that the country received 12 recommendations from the EU and is ready to fulfill them with the help of a clear map of guidelines.
