Armenia launches criminal probe into fake audio of PM Pashinyan

Armenia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case concerning the circulation of a falsified audio recording allegedly featuring Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The committee’s press service confirmed that the audio in question appears to have been fabricated by a group of individuals with malicious intent, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

In the recording, Pashinyan is purportedly heard giving instructions to the heads of the National Security Service and the Investigative Committee.

Officials say the case has been launched under Part 2 of Article 364 of Armenia’s Criminal Code, which pertains to computer forgery committed by a group of individuals.
