Russia affirms Cuba as strategic partner, vows continued support
Russia has reaffirmed Cuba’s status as a strategic partner and pledged to maintain its support, Russian Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin announced at the International Transport and Logistics Forum, TASS reports.
"Cuba stands as a strategic partner of ours. We have long provided it with support, continue to do so, and remain steadfast in our commitment to uphold that support into the future," Nikitin said, emphasizing the enduring nature of the bilateral relationship.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also addressed the first International Transport and Logistics Forum via video conferencing held on April 1, promoting Russian transport corridors, digital platforms, and autonomous systems as solutions to geopolitical risks affecting energy and shipping.
He said Russia will host the forum biennially, offer joint science-and-training programs, and position its routes to reduce delivery times and diversify global supply chains.
