Iran’s steel industry faces devastating strikes by US, Israel
US and Israeli strikes targeted steel complexes in central and southwestern Iran, causing damage to production facilities.
During the attacks, Mobarakeh Steel Company sustained significant damage, Fars news agency reports.
“Preliminary assessments indicate that the industrial capacities of Mobarakeh Steel Company, one of Iran’s largest, in Isfahan province, were severely damaged or destroyed as a result of the massive attacks,” the company’s statement said.
The report also noted that one of the company’s subsidiaries, Sefid Dasht Steel, located in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province in the southwest, “suffered damage and losses.” The Isfahan complex was attacked on Friday alongside the Khuzestan Steel plants in southwestern Iran.
Steel is a strategically critical material, essential for industrial and military production, including missiles, drones, and ships.
