Pashinyan: Putin plays key role in Armenia-Azerbaijan normalisation
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has played a significant and ongoing role in efforts to normalise relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Speaking during a visit to the Kremlin, Pashinyan stated that Putin had personally contributed to the process and continued to play an important part in facilitating dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
“You [Vladimir Putin — ed.] have also played a key and very important role in the process of normalising relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia,” he said.
He noted that the Russian leader had maintained close and consistent contact with both sides throughout the negotiations. Pashinyan also added that he had regularly kept Putin informed about developments in the talks between Yerevan and Baku.
