Russia boosts gas exports to Europe via TurkStream pipeline
In the first quarter, Russia increased gas exports to Europe through the TurkStream pipeline by 10%, reaching 4.96 billion cubic meters, TASS reports, citing data from the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG).
In March, Russia supplied 12% more gas to Europe than in February and 21% more than in March last year, with deliveries totalling 1.7 billion cubic meters.
Average daily flow toward Europe via TurkStream reached 55 million cubic meters, up 21% from March 2025 and 1% higher than in February. In March, the pipeline operated at 97% capacity.
The 31.5 billion cubic meters per year TurkStream pipeline crosses the Black Sea, transporting Russian gas to Türkiye and countries in Southern and Southeastern Europe.
Since the halt of transit through Ukraine, about 19% of Europe’s LNG imports from Russia arrive via this pipeline. In January, EU countries agreed to ban Russian LNG imports starting in 2027 and pipeline gas in the autumn of the same year. Violators face fines of 300% of the transaction value or 3.5% of annual turnover.
