Russian president affirms Moscow’s commitment to Armenia’s benefit
Russian President Vladimir Putin reaffirmed that Russia stands behind initiatives that benefit the people of Armenia as he met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Describing the relationship between the two nations as “special,” Putin highlighted the centuries-long historical ties and close cooperation between Russia and Armenia, TASS reports.
“We are united by a shared history and by addressing common challenges together in the past. We are also united by a civilizational affinity — this is extremely important,” he said.
Putin added that Yerevan can always rely on Moscow to support actions and policies that bring tangible benefits to the Armenian people.
The meeting between Putin and Pashinyan took place at the Kremlin on April 1.
