Georgian president congratulates Muslim community on Gurban holiday

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili met with members of the country’s Muslim community in Tbilisi on May 27 to mark the Gurban holiday, highlighting the importance of religious harmony and inclusivity in Georgia.

The meeting took place at the Cathedral Mosque in the capital, where the president delivered a congratulatory address to those gathered for the occasion, as per domestic media.

During his remarks, Kavelashvili underscored that religious tolerance and mutual respect between different communities remain among Georgia’s fundamental values. He stressed that the Muslim community is an integral part of Georgian society and contributes significantly to the country’s socio-cultural development.

The event brought together representatives of the Muslim community as well as members of the diplomatic corps. Among those in attendance was Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Georgia, Faig Guliyev.
