Georgian president may attend memorial ceremony for Iran's late supreme leader

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili may attend memorial services in Iran honouring the country's late Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.
Foreign delegations are expected to attend the ceremony, scheduled for July 9. Representatives from Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia are also expected to participate, Caliber.Az reports per Georgian media.
Iran's vice president said senior foreign officials attending the memorial events are expected to hold bilateral meetings with Iranian counterparts.
Iran's late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed on February 28, along with several members of his family, in a joint U.S.-Israeli strike on Tehran. His son, Mojtaba Khamenei, was subsequently chosen as his successor.
