Georgian president travels to Kazakhstan for regional summit

22 April 2026 10:30

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili has departed for Kazakhstan on a working visit, where he is expected to participate in a regional environmental summit in Astana, according to Georgian media cited by Caliber.Az.

During the visit, Kavelashvili will attend the summit’s plenary session and deliver a speech. The forum will bring together leaders from multiple countries to discuss key challenges, with a particular focus on environmental issues and transport infrastructure.

The topic of transport connectivity is expected to feature prominently, especially given its critical importance for landlocked countries.

As part of his program in Astana, Kavelashvili is also scheduled to hold a meeting with the President of Kazakhstan.
