Georgian top lawmaker tells Zelenskyy to “lower his tone” War demands responsibility, dignity
Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili has called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to moderate his tone, amid growing tensions between the two countries.
Papuashvili made the remarks in response to recent statements and developments involving Ukraine’s position toward Georgia, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
“We were also in a state of war, and did we reproach anyone or make accusations? Being at war demands greater responsibility, and it must be borne with dignity. Over the past few years, Ukrainian delegations in various formats have supported all hostile decisions toward the Georgian people. Is this gratitude? I believe the President of Ukraine should lower his tone,” Papuashvili stated.
"We support the Ukrainian people. Neither Zelenskyy, nor his deputies, nor Brussels deserve our support. They are ungrateful people. Where was the United Kingdom when Zelenskyy imposed sanctions on members of the Georgian government?" he said.
