Germany not interferes with supplies of Leopard tanks to Ukraine by other EU countries
The chief European Union (EU) diplomat Josep Borrell has said that Germany did not interfere with other EU states in terms of supplying Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.
His remarks came in a press conference following the meeting of the leaders of the EU Foreign Ministers on January 23.
“Ministers discussed this problem. I can say that Germany does not create obstacles for other countries to supply Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine,” Borrell said, according to TASS.
On January 20, a meeting of defence ministers from about 50 countries was held at the American Ramstein airbase in Germany, at which further military assistance to Kyiv was discussed. Following the meeting, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced that the participants had not yet made any decision on the delivery of the German Leopard 2 tanks requested by Ukraine.
