Germany to transfer another batch of Leopard tanks to Czech Republic As compensation for Ukraine arms supplies
Germany and the Czech Republic have finalized an agreement for the transfer of fourteen Leopard tanks and one Buffel 3 tank to Prague.
This move is part of Germany's compensation to the Czech Republic for its military support to Ukraine, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
The first batch of tanks is expected to arrive by the end of this year, with subsequent deliveries planned through early 2026. This agreement highlights the ongoing cooperation between Germany and the Czech Republic in strengthening defence capabilities.
In addition to the current deal, the Czech Republic is in discussions with Germany about future acquisitions of Leopard tanks, specifically models 2A4 and 2A8. This is aimed at modernizing the Czech military forces.
Germany had already supplied the Czech Republic with 15 Leopard tanks between 2022 and 2023.
