Israel eliminates two Hezbollah members in southern Lebanon
An Israeli drone strike targeted the town of Yater in southern Lebanon on December 21, killing two members of Hezbollah, according to preliminary reports.
An unmanned aerial vehicle of the Israeli Air Force struck the area, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. The Lebanese news portal Janoubia reported that one of the victims was driving a car that was hit by a missile launched from the drone, while the second was riding a motorcycle.
Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee stated that the strike was aimed at Hezbollah operatives operating in the Yater area. In a message posted in Arabic on X, he specified that the targets belonged to Hezbollah’s elite Radwan special operations unit.
Shortly after the initial strike, a second Israeli drone attack was carried out on the same town. Lebanese sources reported that one person was injured in the subsequent attack. Adraee later confirmed that the Israeli army had targeted “an additional Hezbollah operative in the Yater area of southern Lebanon”.
The incident comes a day after a similar Israeli drone strike targeted the town of Taybeh in southern Lebanon. In a separate development, an Israeli loitering munition reportedly exploded inside an uninhabited house in the southern town of Blida, causing no casualties.
