Grenade thrown at Norwegian ambassador’s residence in Tel Aviv
On June 19, a grenade was thrown at the residence of the Norwegian ambassador to Israel evening in Tel Aviv, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar confirmed, although no injuries were reported.
“I spoke a short time ago with the Norwegian ambassador to Israel, Per Egil Selvaag, in whose yard a grenade was thrown this evening,” Caliber.Az quotes Saar as saying on X.
“I strongly condemn this serious and dangerous crime,” he added.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Meanwhile, in Oslo, the Norwegian Foreign Ministry reported that an explosion had occurred at the ambassador’s residence.
“No embassy staff were injured during the incident,” the ministry stated in an email, without specifying the cause of the explosion.
Israeli police issued a statement confirming that “light property damage was sustained” and announced that an investigation has been launched.
