Gunfire erupts at Holiday Inn hotel in Tbilisi, one detained VIDEO

Gunfire was reported at the Holiday Inn hotel in Tbilisi, Georgian media said, according to Caliber.Az.

Media reports indicated that one of the hotel guests opened fire inside his room. Meanwhile, the Georgian television channel Formula reported that an unidentified individual had taken a hostage at the hotel.

Vaja Siradze, head of the Tbilisi Police Department, confirmed that one person had been detained at the Holiday Inn.

An investigation has been launched under the articles of “Threat” and “Illegal acquisition, storage and carrying of weapons.” Siradze noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs will release an official statement once the investigation of the hotel room is completed.
