Haber Global: Washington Summit marks important step toward lasting peace VIDEO
Turkish television channel Haber Global has prepared footage marking the first anniversary of the August 8, 2025, Washington meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, US President Donald Trump and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, describing the summit as a milestone in establishing peace in the South Caucasus.
The footage highlights the initialling of the text of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia following the summit, calling it an important step toward lasting peace in the region, local media shares.
Haber Global also points to practical measures taken over the past year to normalise relations between Baku and Yerevan. These include the lifting of restrictions on the transit of goods to Armenia through Azerbaijani territory.
The report also highlights ongoing work on the Zangazur Corridor under the TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) project, which is intended to strengthen regional connectivity.
According to the footage, Azerbaijan’s peace initiatives have created new opportunities for regional cooperation, while reconstruction efforts in Karabakh continue.
The report also notes that amendments to Armenia’s Constitution are needed for the peace agreement to be formally signed.
