Hamas commander reported dead allegedly alive, media claims PHOTO
Hamas has confirmed that the commander of its Shati Battalion, Haitham Khuwajari, is alive, despite reports from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) last December that he had been killed in an airstrike.
Hamas stated that Khuwajari will supervise the transfer of Keith Samuel Siegel to the Red Cross. Siegel is one of the hostages involved in the ongoing ceasefire agreement, Caliber.Az reports citing Israeli media.
Khuwajari, who has been a key figure in Hamas operations, was reportedly responsible for security at Shifa Hospital during Hamas' militant activities. His battalion also engaged in intense battles with Israeli forces in the Shati refugee camp.
Despite the IDF's earlier claim regarding his elimination, Hamas' recent statements suggest that Khuwajari remains active involvement in the conflict.
The IDF announced that last December following IDF and ISA intelligence, an IDF fighter jet struck and killed Haitham Khuwajari, the Commander of Hamas’ Shati Battalion.
Under his command, Hamas terrorists carried out raids into Israeli territory on October 7 during the invasion and massacre in southern Israel.
Khuwajari also secured Hamas terrorist activity in the Shifa Hospital and was in command of Hamas’ forces fighting against IDF soldiers in the Shati area.
He was also responsible for carrying out numerous acts of terror against Israelis.
