Heavy rain floods several streets in Georgia’s Batumi

Several streets have been flooded in Georgia’s Batumi city due to heavy rain.

Local rivers inundated their banks due to rainfall, flooding nearby streets and causing landslides, Batumi City Hall reports, citing the city’s officials.

Mayor of Batumi Archil Chikovani along with the representatives of the corresponding city services travelled to the scene.

The work is underway to clean drainage wells, and channels and take other measures.

According to the mayor's office, all drainage channels leading to the sea are open for timely water drainage.
