High-ranking Turkish military delegation meets Syrian defence officials in Damascus PHOTO
A high-ranking military delegation from Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defence has visited Damascus, where they met with Syrian Defence Minister Major General Murhaf Abu Qasra and Chief of the General Staff Major General Ali Al-Naasan.
The discussions focused on regional issues and steps towards cooperation with the Syrian army, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
During the visit, the delegation also inspected several military facilities belonging to Syria’s Ministry of Defence.
Meanwhile, on January 9, a Turkish Airlines delegation held technical talks in Damascus to discuss the resumption of flights between Türkiye and Syria.
Erol Senol, the airline's vice president for the Middle East and Cyprus, revealed that the delegation met with officials from the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority and Syrian Air's management.
The discussions focused on strengthening Syrian Airlines' technical infrastructure and reviewing airport operations and fleet structure.
The aim is to resume flights between Damascus and Istanbul at the earliest opportunity.
