Hraparak: Pashinyan decides to appoint his friend and countryman as Interior Minister PHOTO
Despite the fact that the ruling "Civil Contract" in Armenia has many aspirants for the post of the Minister of Interior, Nikol Pashinyan decided to appoint his countryman and friend, Chief of the Police Vahe Ghazaryan to the post.
According to Caliber.Az, Yerevan-based Hraparak newspaper shared the information in the article citing its sources.
"He not only justified Pashinyan's hopes but oddly enough has the lowest anti-rating, unlike the Civil Contract members Andranik Kacharyan, Romanos Petrosyan and Hakob Simidyan, who aspire to the post. The Ministry of Internal Affairs will be formed on the basis of the merger of the police and the Ministry of Emergency Situations; there are also other structures. The creation of this structure has already been postponed several times.
Recently Pashinyan had another meeting on the matter and they say the MIA will be formed early next year. Apparently, one of Ghazaryan's current deputies will be appointed police chief," the newspaper says.
