Hungarian PM debacle over scarf continues in Kyiv PHOTO
The debacle surrounding Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban continues as Ukraine's foreign ministry has also expressed outrage over the scarf the minister wore to a football match depicting a map of "Greater Hungary" which includes the modern territories of several states including Ukraine.
'The promotion of revisionism ideas in Hungary does not contribute to the development of Ukrainian-Hungarian relations and does not comply with the principles of European policy,' Ukrainian ministry spokesperson Oleg Nikolenko stated, adding that the ministry will summon the Hungarian Ambassador to Kyiv regarding this instance according to the Daily Mail.
The map on the scarf, worn by Orban to a football match between Hungary and Greece on November 20, portrayed the borders that existed before the defeat of the Austro-Hungarian Empire after World War One. In the "Treaty of Trianon" the division of the state territories was approved, splitting up between Hungary, Austria, Slovakia, Romania, Croatia, Serbia and Ukraine as can be seen in the map below (purple marking modern Hungary, blue marking "Greater Hungary" territories before WWI).
Caliber.Az recalls, that the Romanian government already expressed their deep disapproval of Orban's behaviour.
