IDF: Israeli civilians ram Palestinian in Nablus, investigation ongoing
Israeli military officials have reported that several Israeli civilians entered the city of Nablus in the West Bank’s Samaria division overnight on December 19 without authorisation.
According to the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), the civilians deliberately drove into a Palestinian man, who was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. The individuals then abandoned their vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
The vehicle has been seized and is expected to be handed over to the Civil Administration shortly. Israeli forces also arrested several of the civilians, who were handed over to the Israeli police for further investigation.
The IDF emphasised that Israeli citizens are prohibited by law from entering Area A in the West Bank, describing such actions as dangerous.
On December 17, four Palestinians were injured, including one with a serious chest wound, during clashes with Israeli forces in Nablus. The Ramallah-based Ministry of Health confirmed the victims were taken to Rafidia hospital.
Palestinian security sources reported that Israeli troops stormed the city and raided the old city, firing live ammunition and tear gas as youths responded with stones and bottles.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Prisoners Club said Israeli forces carried out widespread arrests across the West Bank, detaining 40 people—including a child and former prisoners—in Salfit, Jenin, Bethlehem, Ramallah, Nablus, Tulkarm, and Hebron.
