04 May 2026 12:42
A significant flow of illicit fuel shipments has been recorded from Iran into Pakistan.
According to eyewitnesses, a large convoy near the border town of Pirkor, in which thousands of people were transporting fuel, Caliber.Az reports, citing Persian media.
Such smuggling operations were previously actively suppressed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, but control is now said to have noticeably weakened.
Reports suggest that one possible reason for the surge in illegal fuel exports is the overflow of oil storage facilities, prompting excess supplies to be diverted out of the storage system through such channels.
