Indonesia hit by another earthquake, no casualties reported

A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck off the coast of Indonesia’s Flores Island, 46 kilometres northwest of the city of Ende, which has a population of more than 70,000, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).

The agency said the epicentre was at a depth of 35 kilometres, with no casualties or damage yet reported.

It was the second strong earthquake following the devastating tremor on the morning of August 15, which killed more than 50 people and injured dozens.
