Insurance firms halt war risk coverage for ships amid Iran conflict

Marine insurers Skuld and Gard have announced they will stop providing war risk coverage for vessels operating in the Persian Gulf region.

According to Khabar Fouri, the decision comes in response to the escalating hostilities in the area and will take effect from 5 March 2026. The suspension is expected to impact shipping operations and logistics through Iranian waters and the broader Gulf region.
