Internet access in Iran nearly collapses
28 February 2026 18:58
Severe internet disruptions have been recorded across the entire territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI), with connectivity reportedly dropping to just 4%, according to the international network monitoring service NetBlocks.
“Confirmed: Network data show Iran is now in the midst of a near-total internet blackout with national connectivity at 4% or ordinary levels,” the organisation said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
According to the company, the situation was triggered by the hostilities initiated by the United States and Israel in the region.
