Iran accuses US of being world's leading ally of terrorism
On the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani has condemned the United States as the principal ally of terrorism globally.
In a statement marking the day, Kanani accused the US of numerous crimes against Iran and its people, citing attacks on civilians, actions by the private military company Blackwater in Iraq, and the downing of an Iranian passenger plane in the Persian Gulf, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
He also highlighted alleged US cooperation with Israeli intelligence in the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists.
“The US has committed unforgivable crimes, from deadly strikes on defenseless civilians to supporting terrorist activities,” Kanani declared. He criticized the US for its role in various global conflicts and accused it of supporting terrorist groups, particularly pointing to Israel as a criminal entity.
Kanani emphasized that these actions reflect a broader pattern of Western hostility, stating, “The masks have long been torn off the faces of Westerners, led by the US regime, the main supporter of terrorism.”
He also reminded of the US' historical use of nuclear bombs on civilian populations, underscoring Iran's grievances and its view of the US as a major threat to global peace and security.
