Iran accuses US of pressuring Oman, interfering in Strait of Hormuz affairs Official statement

Tehran has accused the United States of exerting pressure on Oman over negotiations concerning the Strait of Hormuz, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in an official statement.

The ministry noted that recent talks between Iranian and Omani representatives in Muscat focused on issues related to the Strait of Hormuz. According to the statement, Washington, “through direct and indirect pressure on Oman,” obstructed efforts to reach an agreement between the parties.

Iran also condemned the latest US strikes and claimed that “America has also directly intervened in the process of Iran carrying out the necessary procedures in the Strait of Hormuz, leading to renewed instability in the strait and disrupting international commercial shipping.”

The ministry further stated that “at the same time, the US military, by using the territories and resources of countries located on the southern coast of the Persian Gulf to prepare military aggression against Iran, has effectively turned these states into a theatre of war against the Iranian people.”

The Iranian Foreign Ministry warned against any participation in or cooperation with the United States and added that Iran would continue to defend its territory and sovereignty.
