Iran activates air defences in western city of Kermanshah
Air defence systems were activated in and around the western Iranian city of Kermanshah on June 8, according to a statement from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) press office.
The IRGC said air defence units were observed operating in several parts of the city and its outskirts, with residents reporting hearing the sound of defensive systems across multiple areas, Caliber.Az reports.
According to the statement, the measures were taken to counter what it described as Israeli targets and to safeguard the region's airspace.
"Air defence systems were observed in operation in certain parts of the city and its outskirts, and the sounds of these systems were heard in several areas," the IRGC said, adding that the actions were aimed at ensuring regional air security.
