Iran appoints temporary military leaders after deaths of top commanders

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has named temporary leaders following the deaths of two senior military figures: Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, and Hossein Salami, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Habibollah Sayyari will act as the new Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and Ahmad Vahidi will temporarily lead the IRGC, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.

These changes come after recent attacks that killed the top commanders.
