Iran arrests 30 over alleged links to US, Israel intelligence
Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence has announced the arrest of 30 individuals suspected of links to foreign intelligence services, particularly those of the United States and Israel.
In a statement, the ministry said that 10 individuals described as “enemy-linked operatives” were detained in the provinces of Gilan Province, Kerman Province, Hamadan Province, and Hormozgan Province. The suspects were accused of involvement in the production of improvised explosive devices and the preparation of firearms, Caliber.Az reports per Iranian media.
The ministry further reported that 20 additional individuals were identified and detained for alleged ties to what it described as a “media network” linked to Israel and for supplying weapons. Of these, 12 arrests were carried out in Hormozgan province, four in Hamadan province, and four in Kerman province.
Separately, Iranian security services said they had dismantled two groups allegedly involved in smuggling weapons into the country from the Iraqi Kurdistan.
