Iran arrests 75 in crackdown on suspected terror and hacker networks
Iranian security forces have detained approximately 75 individuals in Alborz province on suspicion of involvement in what authorities described as terrorist and anti-government networks, according to the semi-official Tasnim News Agency.
The arrests were carried out by units of the Alborz Corps, with officials alleging that those detained had links to organised groups engaged in activities against the state.
According to the report, some of the suspects are believed to have participated in filming videos of attacks targeting key infrastructure, as well as being involved in violent incidents in Golshahr, Karaj, and other locations.
Authorities also said they had identified and detained individuals accused of burning photographs and insulting the memory of Ali Khamenei. Among those arrested were described “active provocateurs” on social media, as well as members of a hacker group.
The report added that some of the suspects used satellite-based internet services, including Starlink, to carry out their online activities.
