Iran arrests doctor and nurse in Najafabad on security charges
Iranian security forces have arrested a doctor and an anaesthesia nurse at a hospital in the city of Najafabad in central Iran on security-related charges, according to Iran International.
The individuals were identified as Dr Pedram Hadipour and nurse Sobhan Nourian. Both were detained on Saturday, May 2, at Montazeri Hospital in Najafabad.
The specific nature of the charges against the two medical professionals has not been disclosed.
The arrests come after graphic footage circulated from the same hospital following protests on January 8 and 9. The images showed bloodied bodies of dozens of casualties in different sections of the medical facility.
No official comment has been provided regarding any connection between the arrests and the previously circulated footage.
