Iran arrests over 460 over security, cyber offences

Iranian police say they have arrested 466 people accused of undermining national security and carrying out online activities linked to what authorities describe as US and Israeli efforts to destabilise the country.

In a statement released on March 24, the police information centre said the arrests were made following “intelligence and technical monitoring” conducted in recent days, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.

Those detained are accused of offences including “spreading public fear and anxiety”, “promoting in favour of the enemy”, and “organising disruptive elements in cyberspace”.
